Care Instructions

A list of care for some materials that we use in our work.

Silk Velvet:

Our silk velvet comes from Hanoi, Vietnam.

It’s recommended to dry clean when able. Hand washing with cold water and a mild soap or shampoo can work as well.

let it dry in shadow, not in direct sunlight. Iron only with low heat or with steam when needed. Don’t use perfume or bleach on the fabric as it will damage it.

Beads:

While some beads are weather hardy we recommend keeping them out of harsh weathers. Over time some beads can lose color due to excessive water exposure or direct sunlight. We utilize a large variety of beads that come from all over and from different time periods. Some are vintage/antique while others are new productions.

Birch Bark:

We hand harvest our birch bark from the upper peninsula of Michigan. Birch is a special bark that can be harvested without harming the tree. As a natural material we recommend keeping it in a weather safe environment away from water and extended UV exposure when possible.
